Emily Oliveira and I were asked to craft and animate segments for Todd Oldham Studios’ “Smarts and Crafts”, a quirky crafting show featured on the Walmart mobile app. This show was set up like a choose-your-own-adventure, with different buttons leading to different crafting segments. We pitched, crafted, and animated multiple segments where the shows host transformed into a pom pom and other magical objects.
Shot in March of 2020, this job involved the added issue of not being able to work in my studio. As a result all of the animating, comping, live action chroma key, etc was done in my parents garage. It was a tough shoot, but at the end of it I felt proud that we were able to develop and shoot the strangest of content in really difficult circumstances.
